  Doctor Discussion Guide

Always talk to your doctor—he or she can help.

BPH affects millions of men. Even though it may be uncomfortable to talk about, be open with your doctor. Doctors help patients with BPH every day.

Be prepared to talk
Tell your doctor how you’ve been feeling. Then ask what you should do next. Here are some good questions to ask:

  • Do my symptoms need treatment?
  • Do I have an enlarged prostate?
  • What are my treatment options?
  • If I do not receive treatment, what might happen?
  • What are the side effects and benefits of my treatment options?
  • Will any treatments cause problems with other medicines?

  • How do I monitor my progress?
