Taking CARDURA XL
CARDURA XL should be taken once daily with breakfast.
Because of its delivery system, always swallow the tablet whole. Never chew, crush,
or cut it.
The starting dose of CARDURA XL is 4 mg. This dose may provide relief for
you. After 3 or 4 weeks, however, your doctor may recommend that you increase your
dosage to 8 mg for better symptom relief.
CARDURA XL is used to treat the symptoms of enlarged prostate, or benign prostatic
hyperplasia (BPH). It is not meant for women or children.
CARDURA XL is not indicated for hypertension.
Do not take CARDURA XL if you had reactions to terazosin or prazosin, or if you
are allergic to any of the ingredients in CARDURA XL.
Talk to your doctor if you have ongoing constipation, or liver problems.
Like other drugs in its class, CARDURA XL may cause low blood pressure at first. This can make you dizzy, especially when getting up from sitting or lying down. Until you find out how CARDURA XL affects you, avoid situations where this could cause injury. Eye complications during cataract surgery have occurred in some patients who take, or have taken, alpha blockers like CARDURA XL. Before taking CARDURA XL, prostate cancer should be ruled out.
The most common side effects of CARDURA XL are headache, dizziness, cold or flu, fatigue and back pain.
